Hi everyone! My name is Elizabeth Lopez, but I prefer the nickname Liz. My parents are immigrants from Mexico, but I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I grew up in a low-income and predominantly Latino community in which my parents constantly struggled to make ends meet. Their resilience and motivation influenced me to acquire a higher education.  Currently, I am a rising senior at Brown University in which hopefully by this time next year I will be the first college graduate in my family. Although I have faced many difficulties and obstacles, I have had some amazing moments too. I discovered my passion for music, fitness, and mental health advocacy. I’ve made amazing and long-lasting friends. I studied abroad in the United Kingdom making one of my childhood dreams come true. Although I am a very shy individual, I hope to make an impact in the world, continue traveling, give my parents a home, and discover and try new things.
