Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has declared August as Community Health Worker Appreciation Month! Community Health Workers are frontline public health workers who have a close understanding of and trusted relationship with the community they serve. WIN Network: Detroit utilizes Community Health Workers in our enhanced model of group prenatal care to co-facilitate group sessions and provide extra one-on-one support for moms’ needs. WIN Network: Detroit CHWs are members of the Henry Ford Health System Community Health Worker Hub. The Hub serves as the anchoring unit for all of Henry Ford’s CHWs.
